As most of you probably know, I spent last week in San Francisco with my husband. He had a conference to go to, so he was busy from 8 AM until about 5:30 PM Monday - Thursday. I was on my own for those times, but then we got to sight see at other times.
Monday - Our first full day in SF. I went shopping at the huge mall just blocks from our hotel and spent lots of money. The food court was impressive. I'm talking real plates, real silverware, and those little electronic pagers to let you know when your food was ready.
Every night from 5-6, there was free wine in the hotel lobby. Of course, me being the lightweight I am, I got drunk in the hotel lobby every night. Alone. On one glass of wine.
Tuesday - I took the bus to Japantown for a little sightseeing. I bought lots of fun things and had some amazing sushi.
Tuesday night we were invited to a party thrown by Dell. I had no idea that the IT geeks could get down and party like that. and I told Ken that if he goes again next year and for some reason I can't go, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can he go to any of the party. It was crazy. Like people making out with random people all over the place. It was like high school. I think it was the alcohol. They had the STRONGEST drinks I've ever had in my life.
Wednesday - I went back to the mall for lunch, but checked out all of the other shops outside of the mall. There were A LOT!
Thursday - I kind of lounged around a little because Ken was done early this day. After he was done, we took the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf. What a waste! It's a tourist trap, honestly. There really wasn't much of anything to see or do, and from what we heard, the best food was blocks away from the wharf. So we walked about a mile for dinner. and it was worth it - it was so amazing!
Then we went to Ghirardelli Square (where there also isn't much of anything), but they gave us samples of the Pumpkin Spice chocolates (Ken gave me his because he knows how I love pumpkin spice anything!) and we got hot chocolates. I swear, it tasted like someone had melted a chocolate bar in 1/4 cup of milk. It was WAY too chocolatey for me.
Friday - We went to the airport and rented a car and drove around Silicon Valley. We went to 1 Inifite Loop in Cupertino (which some of you may know as Apple's headquarters). I swear, he was in heaven.
Saturday - We went to the Computer History Museum (also his choice)
All in all, it was a fun trip ... but I'll have a much better idea of what to do if I go next year! (and hopefully one of y'all will want to meet me out there!)

Yum, all the food looks so good! And the pumpkin spice caramels are the BEST! I had them for the first time in San Francisco, and last year my hubby bought me a whole bag!
awww this sounds like fun! i like how independent you were and just did all that sightseeing on your own!!
and whoa - that sounds like an intense party!
The mall food court sounds so cool!! Ours is not like that...at all. Haha.
