How we met ...

8 years ago today, I had the last first date of my life. I walked out of my dorm room to see the most handsome guy in the world. I was already in love, and the feeling has not stopped in all these years.

We had only met a few days earlier. I was a college sophomore and he was in his second year of teaching Physics at my old high school. It was a Tuesday. I had driven home from college to vote. I decided to stop in at my old high school and visit my favorite teacher. I had just gotten out of a long relationship (and even an engagement, although I don't really believe we'd have ever gotten married) and I had just changed my major from math to physics and math.

My favorite teacher had plans for me. He recommended that I go meet the new physics teacher. So I did. I walked out of the math wing and into the science wing, and into the classroom of my future husband. It was love at first sight.

At first he was very nervous. After all, he had my younger brother in class. But I didn't give in. I asked him out for that Friday night. (he says that he never would have asked me out because he didn't think I'd say yes).

So we exchanged phone numbers and AIM screennames and I went to vote. When I got back to my dorm that night, I opened up my AIM and we chatted every night that week for hours. I was really in love. He was everything I'd ever wanted.

Friday night rolled around and he picked me up for dinner. We went to Texas Roadhouse, and I was so nervous that I hardly ate. (and that never happens to me) then we went back to my dorm to hang out for a while. We made out a little, but mostly stayed up talking all night about everything. We've been together ever since.

My prince charming - I love you with my whole heart and I can't imagine my life without you! You're my best friend.
