2 Christmases ago, my wonderful Mother-in-Law bought me a sewing machine. She buys me all the cool toys that I won't buy for myself - my Rachael Ray Hard Anodized cookware (bridal shower), my Kitchen Aid stand mixer (Christmas before we were married), my sewing machine (2 Christmases ago), and our Keurig (this past Christmas). Between my mom and my mother-in-law, I have an amazingly well-stocked kitchen and a box full of old family recipes.
I've always been a good cook - it's just something that's always come naturally to me. Looking for a new challenge, I decided to actually open my sewing machine back in July. Beginning in July, the first things that I made were a few aprons:
I've also taught myself how to shorten jeans while keeping the original hem. See here.
So what's next on my "crafting" agenda? Passport covers. I saw a bunch of cute passport covers on Etsy and realized ... Hey! I can make those! So I searched for a pattern for making passport covers, found one, and printed it. Now to pick cute fabric ... :)
